PAC has the functions of adhesion, thickening, strengthening, emulsifying, water retention and suspension, etc. It is used as a thickening agent in the food industry, as a drug carrier in the medicine industry, as a binder and anti-resetting agent in the daily chemical industry.
Used in printing and dyeing industry as sizing agent and printing paste protective colloid.
It can be used as a component of oil production fracturing fluid in the petrochemical industry.
In the pharmaceutical industry, it can be used as injection stabilizer, tablet binder and film-forming agent.
The FAO and WHO has approved the use of pure PAC in foods, which was approved after rigorous biological and toxicological studies and tests, with the international standard safe intake (ADI) of 25mg/(kg · d), or about 1.5 g/d per person.
In detergents, PAC can be used as an anti-fouling redeposition agent, especially for hydrophobic synthetic fibre fabrics, the anti-fouling redeposition effect is better than carboxymethyl fibre.
PAC can be used to protect oil Wells as mud stabilizer and water-retaining agent in oil drilling. The dosage of each well is 2.3t for shallow Wells and 5.6t for deep Wells.
Used in the textile industry as a sizing agent, printing and dyeing paste thickener, textile printing and stiff finishing.
Used as a sizing agent to improve solubility and viscosity.
PAC can be used as anti – sedimentation agent, emulsifier, dispersant, levelling agent, adhesive, can make the solid part of the paint evenly distributed in the solvent, so that the paint is not stratified for a long time, but also a large number of applications in the paint.
PAC is more effective than sodium gluconate in removing calcium ions when used as a flocculant. When used as cation exchange, its exchange capacity can reach 1.6 ml/g.
PAC is used as a paper sizing agent in the papermaking industry, which can improve the dry and wet strength, oil resistance, ink absorption and water resistance of paper.
PAC is used as a hydrosol in cosmetics and as a thickening agent in toothpaste, and its dosage is around 5%.
PAC can also be used as flocculant, chelating agent, emulsifier, thickening agent, water retention agent, sizing agent, film-forming material, etc.
